WHAT IS BIM?
BIM is the process of bringing mission-critical data center information online and into a unified digital repository.
This repository is more than just an online collection of paper brochures and asset specs, rather the BIM process creates a living, breathing 3D representation of your data center and all of its components, allowing for easy navigation around your center and a global view of your entire operation.
Through BIM, Northshore essentially scans your building and rebuilds it, component by component in the digital space to create a model.
WHY SHOULD I DIGITIZE MY BUILDING THROUGH BIM?
By modernizing your old-school building documentation, you transform printed as-built drawings, 2-D CAD files, and random pdf files into a BIM model that can:
Be queried on demand.
Visually link the physical location of your assets to their logical data point within your Building Management System (BMS) and/or your Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools.
Generate automated Bills of Materials.
Streamline infrastructure financial analysis calculations.
Finally, the model is parametric, meaning if you make an adjustment to one component, the system will automatically update related components to ensure the model remains accurate.
FOR THE SAME TIME AND EFFORT IT TAKES TO GENERATE STATIC 2-D CAD DRAWINGS, WE CAN BUILD INTERACTIVE, PARAMETRIC, & SEARCHABLE 3-D BIM MODELS.
THE NORTHSHORE APPROACH
Northshore's proprietary process is designed to ensure that the BIM model we create for your building is infused with the essential datasets — cost, project timeline, maintenance schedules, etc. — that your company needs to power your organization's mission-critical decisions.
In addition to building out a complete model, we will also train your team to ensure they can properly leverage the model and keep it up-to-date.
